In response to COVID-19, Delaware Pet Stuff will be initiating the following response:

  1. We are currently constructing an additional sallyport in the daycare lobby to allow clients to place their pet into one side of the receiving area and for staff to retrieve the dog from the other side of the receiving area.  This will allow people to maintain the recommended distance between persons when dropping off or picking up dogs. If you do enter our lobby, we ask that you keep at least a 6 foot space between staff and other clients.

  2. Grooming clients will have the option to drop their pets off in the groom shop or use the new daycare sallyport option.  If dropping off in the groom shop the grooming staff will coordinate with clients to place pets behind the grooming gate so that the no-contact distance can be maintained between persons.    

  3. In addition to our already stringent cleaning policy, we will be disinfecting any surface that a client touches, after each interaction, such as door handles and payment tablets.  Leads will be sprayed with disinfectant each visit.

  4. We recommend that daycare be purchased in packages to limit the number of interactions at our front desk.

  5. We recommend using our online reservation system to limit the need to be in our lobby.  Reservations can be made by phone and email as well.

  6. As this crisis evolves we understand that clients may need additional in-home or in-facility care for their pets.  We sincerely hope you do not require additional assistance due to illness, but if so, we will work with each client on a case by case basis to offer assistance with your pets care.

  7. We understand that first responders and medical professionals may need additional assistance as their work schedule demand increases.  Please let us know if we can help care for your pet during this time.  

  8. The current Basic Manners training class will be postponed until April 14th.  

  9. Cancellations will not incur any additional fees.  

  10. Per the CDC website:  “To date, CDC has not received any reports of pets or other animals becoming sick with COVID-19. At this time there is no evidence that companion animals including pets can spread COVID-19.”
